Fri, January 16, 2004 - 9:59 AMNot a "bar" per se, but a great nighttime hangout is Brilliant Corners on Wabasha downtown - open really really really late, live jazz.
I'm also a big fan of Glockenspiel over on 7th south of Kellogg, but then again I never met a bottle-conditioned German ale, nor a plate of meats and cheeses, that I didn't like.
Neither is really a bar in the "traditional" sense, but both are good places to spend an evening.

Tue, January 20, 2004 - 9:14 PMGrowing up as a teenager in and/or around St. Paul, I was always particularly partial to a downtown bar, the proprietors of which never once carded me. As such, I always return when I get the chance. I trust you'll all understand, however, if I fail to mention their name. I like them and hope they stay in business...
Used to drink at the Hearthrob before they lost their liquor license, before Coleman gutted the area. Couple of places out on Snelling, Midway-area, but the names aren't coming to me just now... I'll try this again later, when I've had sleep. -

Mon, March 8, 2004 - 11:50 AMFhima is nice. The University Club has a great pub feel to it when the bar is open. W. A. Frost is so lovely and very fitting for St. Paul. It feels right to be there.
I don't go to St. Paul much, I know a great deal more about MPLS.
